The Library can no longer fund a Youth
Services Librarian. We do purchase materials of interest to young people, and the staff is
happy to assist parents and children find materials of interest. A new service for new
readers is the "Beginning Reader Step Program" with books grouped by level of
reading difficulty. We will be happy to direct readers to these books.
The Library continues to partner with agencies that serve youth in our community. Library
staff will provide an orientation for the group leader so that they may conduct their own
tour of the Library. To avoid multiple groups using the Library at the same time, there is
a registration procedure. To request an orientation or to schedule a group, please contact
Arlene Mallek, Public Services Librarian.
